January/February Newsletter
Hello Everyone and Happy New Year!  My wish for all of you is to have a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year filled with lots of love and of course... knitting!
In a few short months we will be entering our 4th year at The Yarn Angel.  It amazes me how quickly the time has gone by.  Those of you who have been with  me  from the beginning know what I mean.  We have seen many changes over the years, most of which were wonderful.  My life is richer for the friends I have made through the shop.  I know that this year is going to be the best one yet for everyone!
NEWS!  We have a couple more knit a longs with Skacel.  This month is a patterned mitten and next month is a two color sock.  The yarns for both projects are at the shop and you will find it hard to choose from the gorgeous colors.  For all the information about this knit a long, please go to www.purlhunter.com
Sister Pat, and Mama Pat will be sending out an email in a few weeks about their Mystery Knit A Long that will start in the beginning of February.  You will receive the yarn and needle requirements at that time.  This project is such a mystery, I am not sure I really know what it is!  Each week they will give you the instructions and when it is over you will have a really great something!!  Stayed tuned for more info soon!
I am continuing to bring in new yarns, patterns, books and bags.  We have added some beautiful silk and  cotton Lantern Moon project bags.  There are also some very sweet Laura Birch knitting bags and notions bags.   New kinds of Cascade yarns are trickling in and I am introducing some Luxe Alpaca from Woodstock Knits. As soon as you feel this alpaca you will fall in love with it!  There are also new patterns from Woodstock Knits to go with the yarn.   We have new colors in Vintage dk that are perfect for babies and children along with some beautiful new variegated yarns in Comfort dk both from Berroco.  Also new from Berroco are variegated colors in Vintage worsted.  All of us love to knit with this yarn and now we have colors!
Charity Knitting:
Thanks again to all of you who knitted for the Red Scarf Project.  You produced thirteen scarves and if you check out the guest book at www.theyarnangel.com you will read a beautiful thank you from this organization.  We also received a Christmas card from the Cornerstone Soup Kitchen.  They were very thankful for our knitted items.  As always the Glens Falls Hospital appreciates the chemo hats for both men and women that you have knitted.
